Once again the Continent of Europe brings itself to Church Street, St Helens to offer comestibles for all. The bi-annual event is now well established and folk from Fingerpost to Gillars Green come and have a maul around the stalls with questions of “What’s that?” and   “HOW much!!?” . 

This year the event was opened by local celebrity Brian from Belgium, otherwise known as the Lush from Liege. Brian, dressed in full robot gear (sponsored by North Road fancy dress shop) said “ Eet iz ma pleasure to breeng to yu a taste of what I now experience coz I am now proper foreign. My days in Poisoned Electrik Head may be long behind me but my heart iz still in Sainte Helenz.”  A fabulous reception of garlic and frogs legs accompanied Briandroid as he perfomed a few Coldplay cover versions to get proceedings off the ground.

Asked to comment on the event, local bystander Mr E Deverill stated “Its all very well having these dos like but what about this chewy all over Church Street. It looks well!”
